**Sil PoV**
I frowned as we were made to do another round of silent reading. The teacher allowed me to return to my seat, but I struggled not to kick my legs. Sitting still was so boring! I loved reading, but I couldn't focus on the silly frog that couldn't jump when there was so much excitement happening outside.
Just as I was about to flip my book closed and look around the classroom, the building suddenly rumbled beneath me. My heart raced, and I looked up, wide-eyed. The other kids stopped whispering and looked around too, their faces a mix of confusion and fear.
"What was that?" someone whispered from the back of the room, but I didn't have time to answer because I was already rushing to the window.
I pressed my face against the glass, my breath fogging it up as I stared outside. My eyes widened as I saw hailstones tumbling from the sky, some as big as tennis balls! They crashed onto the pavement, bouncing and rolling, creating a chaotic dance of white and gray.
