After lunch, I went to check up on the newbies. They looked exhausted. Jason was snapping at them to go faster. He was harsh, but in a different way from me. While I might've been stern and rather unforgiving in the eyes of most, I did know the limits of others. I understood that pushing someone too far could break their spirit, not just their body.
As I approached the training area, I could see the weariness etched on their faces—sweat-soaked brows and trembling limbs. My heart ached for them. They were still finding their footing, trying to grasp the intensity of our training regimen.
"Hey, Jason!" I called out, my voice cutting through the noise. He turned, his expression a mix of annoyance and surprise. "Let's take a breather, shall we?"
He scoffed. "They need to toughen up. We can't coddle them forever."
