With a big smile on his face, Adam leaves Joe's house.
It's his first day back in the past, and he already has three women locked. With his new looks, upgraded body, and the personality he has developed living like a piece of shit and developing a thick skin, he is going to live like a king.
Adam gets inside his car and drives away.
Many things are running through his mind as he plans for his future. He sees many possible paths he can take to better his life.
But the most important hurdle he needs to pass is to make sure that his bitch of a step mother doesn't poison his father's ears.
And for that, he needs to earn the old man's trust even though he doesn't like him one bit.
So the best course of action right now is to find a part-time job, which will only be a temporary thing, to show his father that he is serious about improving himself.
Driving back to the city, Adam soon finds what he is looking for. A sign for hire at a fancy family restaurant.
As Adam looks at the restaurant's name, he remembers something.
'Wait, isn't this the same restaurant that was a massive chain of five-star restaurants in the future?' Adam questions.
'Culinary Canvas... Yes, it's the same one. I remember reading an article about how the owner was passionate about creating art on a plate while also making it taste great. Her business's brand value blew up, and she went on to open multiple five star restaurants under the same name across the country,' The reason Adam recalled his piece of information is because when he was dirt poor and walking down the streets, he was humiliated by a staff member belonging to this exact restaurant for standing next to the entrance.
Angry, he went back home to leave a bad review, which then further escalated into him looking into the history of this restaurant and how the owner made it from scratch. Her story somehow even managed to inspire him, but only for a few minutes before he went back to his normal ways.
But from that day, he always wished to make enough money so that he could eat in this restaurant one day. His wish never came true.
'Another path for me has opened,' Adam says and parks his car to the side and gets out.
A few people who are walking by notice Adam get out of his expensive car and wonder who this young handsome man is, some girls want to approach him and ask for his number, but they are too afraid to approach.
Not bothered by the stares, Adam enters the restaurant.
He looks around and sees that the restaurant is tastefully designed. The design is not trying to be overly impressive, but it still makes it feel like stepping into a cozy art gallery.
The walls have elegant art painted on them, the lights are warm, and the colors of the furniture match the theme of the restaurant.
There are about twelve tables inside this restaurant, as the restaurant is still in its infancy, but Adam doesn't mind.
If he manages to get close to the owner and become friends with her, he might be able to invest in this business, which will blow up in the future. He has already seen what this restaurant will turn into, so it would be stupid of him not to take advantage of it.
Adam notices someone coming out from the back of the restaurant, and as he turns around, he sees a beautiful woman in a chef's outfit before him.
She looks to be in her mid-twenties, is about five feet six inches tall, with wavy brunette hair, a beautiful face, blue eyes, a nice nose, endearing dimples, her figure is gracefully slender, and she is radiating elegance as she stands in front of Adam
"Sir, we just opened. Why don't you sit down, and I will take your order in a minute," she says with a smile that would brighten up any man's day.
'It's her,' Adam thinks as he recognizes this woman in front of him. She is the owner of the restaurant, of course, the woman he remembers looks much older than the one standing in front of him, but there is not much of a difference. Not only will this woman's business grow exceptionally, but she, too, will age gracefully.
"Hey, my name's Adam, and I am here looking for work. I saw that you were hiring," Adam says, pointing at the sign for hire.
The woman's eyes light up as she hears Adam. Since her restaurant is getting a little more traction, she has been in dire need of extra hands, and Adam has come at the right time.
But she is not going to hire just anyone who walks through the door, even if they are incredibly handsome.
As a young woman, how can Adam's charm go unnoticed by her? She admires how good Adam looks, but that is all there is to it, and nothing more, as she is in a relationship and she loves her boyfriend.
"Oh, come in. I do need to interview you before I hire you," she says with a smile and leads Adam back to her office.
The inside of her office is also cozy and elegant, matching the theme of the restaurant and its clean and well-kept, not messy like most offices are.
"Sit down," she says, pointing at the chair while she sits on her own.
"So... let's begin, shall we?" She asks as she continues to keep her beautiful smile.
"Sure," Adam says, smiling back.
"So... it's Adam," She says.
"Yes,"
"How old are you, Adam?" she asks.
"Eighteen," Adam answers.
"Oh!" she exclaims, surprised. Though Adam looks young and could pass as an eighteen-year-old, he was giving off a much mature vibe, so she assumed that he would be older than he looks.
Adam doesn't say anything and just smiles.
"So, do you have any experience working in a restaurant?" she asks.
"I did work at a fast food chain a few months ago," Adam answers.
Well, if it comes to working in a restaurant, Adam has a lot of experience. He spent most of his life hopping from job to job, looking for better pay, so yes, he has a lot of working experience.
"That's great, do you think you can see yourself as a waiter?" she asks.
The type of worker she needs the most right now is a waiter. She does have one, but the one she has is very clumsy and has gotten a lot of orders wrong, and she doesn't have it in her to fire the poor girl, so she hopes that Adam can cover up for the mistakes the girl makes.
"Sure, I don't want to brag, but I think my face would definitely add some charm to the front of the house," Adam says with a cheeky smile.
This makes the woman chuckle.
"You are very self-aware, I see, hehe," she says.
"Plus, I have a great memory, so I won't get the tables mixed up even without a notepad," Adam says
"That's great to hear. When can you start working?" she asks.
"As soon as tomorrow," Adam answers.
"And are you against wearing a uniform?" she asks.
"Do you have uniforms?" Adam asks.
"Yes, to go along with the theme of the restaurant," she answers.
"Sure, I can wear a uniform," Adam says.
"Great, then let me get your measurements. I will have a uniform ready for you by tomorrow," she says as she claps her hands together with jubilation.
She is just glad that she found another worker so soon, and now she just hopes that Adam lives up to his words and does well.
"Can you stand so I can take your measurements?" she questions.
"Sure," Adam says and gets up. The woman takes a measuring tape and approaches Adam.
Now, as she is just standing inches away from Adam, she realizes that he is very tall.
"You are tall," she says as he looks up at him.
"I am not that tall," Adam says. He is six feet two inches tall, which is very tall compared to an average man, but there are far more taller people in this world.
But to the woman, anyone who is over six feet is tall as she is just five feet six inches; her boyfriend is about five feet ten nine inches, which is already enough for her.
"No need to be humble about it, men would love to be as tall as you," she says as she begins measuring Adam, and she speaks from experience. Her boyfriend had told her once that if he could, he would increase his height.
She didn't know what this obsession of girls with height was; she liked her man just the size he is, but she could tell that he was insecure about his height, so she never brought it up before anyone.
As the woman runs the tape around Adam's body to measure him, she finds it difficult as the hoodie he is wearing is a little too baggy.
"Can you remove your hoodie?" she asks.
"Sure... I don't mind, but I don't understand why you are doing all this. Don't you have someone who can do this for you?" Adam asks.
"I just want to stay true to my restaurant's theme, so every uniform I order needs to match it, so I personally take care of it," she says.
Adam is surprised by her obsession, and now he understands why she will go on to become so successful. If she is putting this much effort into making her worker's uniform, then she must be pushing herself beyond her limits to achieve her goals. This made Adam admire this woman.
Adam removes his hoodie, and for the first time, the woman is shocked.
She is so shocked that she gasps.
