James Black had just thought about speaking to her regarding the Twitter post Mona Calm had published when the mobile phone next to him suddenly started ringing.
James Black turned his head to look at it for a moment, then pressed to dismiss the call without intending to answer it.
This action from James Black hooked Jane Sampson's attention.
"Someone's calling you, why aren't you answering?" Jane Sampson nudged James Black; nobody would make a call to James Black for no reason.
Therefore, since someone was calling James Black, they must have needed him for something.
"Trash call, can't be bothered to answer," James Black casually tossed his phone onto the bedhead cabinet, not caring in the least about the rather loud clang as the phone hit the desktop.
But it was this particular clang that made Jane Sampson, who had originally believed James Black's explanation, lightly furrow her brows.
Jane Sampson took a glance at James Black, thinking quietly to herself.
