Jane Sampson hummed in response, her voice still carrying a hint of a sob from crying earlier, muffled, making James Black frown.
"From now on, you're not allowed to cry at any time," he said in a very stern tone.
"Hmm~" Jane Sampson then broke into a smile, her voice soft and tender as she replied, "I'm not a crybaby. I was just really annoyed just now!"
She wouldn't be sad enough to cry over any lost stuff, even if it were her new purse or anything else that might be invaluable. At most, she would just complain about her bad luck.
But this time, what she lost was something James Black had given her, and to her, that was different.
"That statement doesn't sound very convincing," at least James had seen her cry several times before.
Thinking of this, James's eyebrows suddenly lifted, and the corner of his mouth quirked up slightly as he added, "Except..."
"Except what?" Jane Sampson asked instinctively.
"In our bed, I'll allow you to cry," he said in an indifferent voice.
