"Hehe." Jane Sampson's eyes gleamed as she blinked at James Black.
"What did you promise me just now?" James asked.
"To only drink half a bottle." Jane replied earnestly, then poked the bottle and whispered in defense, "Half a bottle isn't up yet."
One asked, one answered, the couple seemed oblivious to their surroundings.
Jillian Carter gently bit her lip, then finally looked at Jane Sampson, "This is Mr. Black's wife?"
"Mm." It was only then that James responded to Jillian.
"May I be so bold as to ask how long you two have been married?" Jillian seemed completely unaware that as a stranger, her question was somewhat impolite.
At this point in the conversation, James couldn't hide his displeasure, his voice chilling slightly, "I have no interest in showing my private life to a stranger, you've crossed a line."
Four straightforward words, without a shred of courtesy.
Jillian's expression froze on the spot, and it took her a while to recover.
