Adults' conversations are mostly a mix of politeness and probing. Bobby grew impatient after listening for a while. He tugged Edward Jackson's sleeve, whispered a word into his ear, and then walked away alone.
Waitstaff had been paying close attention to them, and as soon as Bobby started walking over, one quickly bent down to ask, "Child, what do you need?"
"Where's the bathroom?"
"Go to the left and turn the corner, and you'll be there," the server replied, aware of his special status, and added, "Never mind, I'll take you there."
Bobby didn't really need to use the bathroom; he was just tired of dealing with such occasions. He decisively declined the server's offer and headed in the direction of the bathroom on his own.
Along the way, he was calculating how long he should hide before returning.
Just as he reached the corner staircase, he suddenly heard a familiar name.
"Skye, you need to think quickly about the matter I discussed with you before," someone said.
