"You go first."
Quite often, Baron Lawrence exhibited a gentlemanly spirit. Seeing her carrying stuffed toys all the way, he finally reached out and took most of them from her.
"Okay." Enna Clark's arms were numb from holding the toys; she was more than willing to have him help, decisively handed the toys over to him, and went up first.
After she got on, Baron Lawrence followed. He handed her the dozen or so stuffed dolls casually and, with his dark eyes fixed on her face, reminded her, "Enna Clark, did you forget to say something to me just now?"
"Say what?" She took the armful of toys and set them aside, clueless.
This damn woman!
Had she not heard the chattering couple ahead of them just now? After the man promised to win a stuffed toy for the woman, didn't she know what the woman had said?
His eyes narrowed, "What do you think?"
