The bell rang for class, and everyone found their seats. Seeing that the teacher hadn't come in yet, Purple Summers turned to Norton Young and said, "If you don't want to go, just refuse, don't be embarrassed."
Purple Summers noticed a hint of resistance in Norton's eyes when that girl mentioned Santa Claus.
Although the girl's attitude seemed affectionate, not every boy was willing to face this kind of adoration. Frankly, they thought Norton was perfect for Santa Claus because he looked fair, plump, and simple and adorable.
Norton managed a wry smile and said, "Actually, it doesn't matter... I'm the kind of person who wouldn't have any girls willing to dance with me at the Christmas dance; I might as well be Santa Claus, at least everyone likes Santa Claus."
"You need to have more confidence," Purple Summers comforted him. "You haven't even gone yet; how do you know no girls will want to dance with you?"
