Victoria Morrison's words clearly weren't because she believed in Norton Young's character and thus trusted that he hadn't committed a crime.

Rather, she felt that, with Norton Young's personality, should he commit a crime, he would likely be a cautious criminal as opposed to an impulsive one.

"The police said that before the incident, the victim had insulted Norton Young on the subway, and it's possible that Norton Young harbored a grudge and followed her to seek revenge. If we testify on his behalf from a character standpoint, the prosecution may counter us with the argument that psychological repression led to a loss of control."

After thinking for a moment, Victoria Morrison sat down next to Purple Summers and asked, "And the victim? What kind of person was she?"

"23 years old, Bridget Stone, an extra at a theater troupe. She was heading home after a rehearsal late at night and happened to take the same subway train as Norton Young."
