Chapter 161 - Sudden move

Bian walked around the shelter, marking those creatures that once stared at him with malicious intent.

'Thirteen of them. Five are primitive creatures and the rest are ordinary.'

Killing a Primitive creature instantly would be a far stretch for him. Prolonging the fight would cause too much of a commotion.

Right now, his prime targets are ordinary creatures, especially with the aid of the Primitive spider and its paralysing geno core.

...

Night in the shelter.

The creatures do not run helter-skelter.

Each moves with purpose, heading towards their room.

Yet unknown to some, they are about to meet their doom.

Bian stalks the creatures who directed malicious intent towards him.

Their fate and only outcome bound to be dark and grim.

...

A small earthworm-like contraption pierced the scales of a five-meter-long snake. The snake could barely let out a weak hiss before it froze solid.

Bian appeared from the shadows and carried the snake away, watching as the earthworm dart zipped through the air.

'It's as fast as the solum mirror.' Bian felt a bit of pride, knowing his Ordinary geno core was as fast as a Primitive one.

He and the spider didn't waste time. It paralysed the creatures, and he dragged them to their room.

Of what concern would it be to the beastly roommates if a usual resident didn't return?

The matter would blow up in daylight, but by then, there would be no evidence.

Stealthily and carefully, the duo paralysed eight ordinary creatures and dragged them back into the room.

Three snakes, one monkey, two wolves, one ram, and a zebra. Although these creatures weren't actually their earthly counterparts, they held enough similarities to be considered as such.

Firstly, Bian activated the Emperical Will and used blunt force to kill all eight creatures, thus gaining their beast souls.

The beast souls he gained respectively are: Three swords, one glyph, two daggers, one cestus, and one more glyph.

The glyph of the monkey was a black palm tattoo on top of his hands. It gave him an iron-like grip, while still allowing him to rotate his wrist.

The glyph of the zebra was a camouflage, which would change his skin and armor to look like the surroundings around him.

Both weren't really useful to Bian since he already possessed terrifying grip strength, and the camouflage didn't even make him invisible; it just mimicked his environment.

Still, they were all precious fusion materials, which Bian kept stored for later.

Now for the division of the spoils. It was quite simple, actually.

The Spider was a sanguivore, meaning its mode of feeding is hematophagy.

Bian allowed it to drink as much blood as it wanted from the eight while making sure even a drop of blood didn't spill out.

Then, he stuffed the body of a snake into the cauldron. The translucent cyclone formed, compressing the snake at a slow speed.

"This is troublesome," Bian muttered while stuffing in the body of the second snake.

You see, the cauldron isn't big enough to contain such big animals. Bian had to really squeeze to force the second snake in.

But what about the other six corpses? If they caught Bian with them, it would be straight to the guillotine.

"I should have thought this through. Why didn't I think this through?"

Bian paced forth and back, counting the seconds. Seconds soon turned to minutes, and several dozens of those passed by.

About forty minutes later, a dark green pill settled at the bottom of the bronze cauldron.

Bian placed another creature and painstakingly waited for it to be refined.

'It's too slow. I really need to upgrade it,' Bian thought while checking the door, making sure nothing was amiss.

He kept checking, waiting to see the princess rush at him with her entourage of sacred-blood creatures.

Luckily, nothing of the sort happened.

The third creature was refined successfully and then the fourth, then the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth.

Thus Bian had seven pills, the first dark green pill refined from two creatures.

He still had half the night to himself. The spider was truly wasted, completely asleep in one corner of the cell.

Bian picked up the dark green pill and swallowed it whole.

[Ordinary Geno Points +1]

[Ordinary Geno Points +1]

...

[Ordinary Geno Points +1]

Bian gained fifteen geno points from the first pill. He picked up the second pill and placed it near his mouth.

Then he paused.

'Emperical Decree!'

What if the pills could be fused?

Bian currently had 63 ordinary geno points and 1 Primitive point.

Barely enough to kill a Primitive creature, but not enough to battle a mutant unless the inner pillars were involved.

Bian fused the six other pills into three Primitive pills. Then he fused two Primitives into one mutant pill.

With a deep gulp, Bian lifted the mutant pill above his lips and opened his mouth wide.

Pew!

A small dart pierced his neck and instantly, Bian froze in his movement.

He watched, eyes wide open, as the spider approached him, its eight eyes glowing menacingly in the dark.

"Ash Princess was right about you. You really are a threat," the ominous voice of the spider echoed as it approached him.

Bian, who was frozen, looked into the eyes of the spider to convey his thoughts.

'I thought we were in it together. You're as much of a threat as I am.'

"Ke ke ke! I never killed any creatures. She warned me that you wouldn't be satisfied with just blood and would start butchering the creatures."

"Once I bring you to her, my rewards will be unimaginable. You lied about the pill to get more for yourself, so don't blame me for also chasing benefits."

'Little spider, oh little spider. What a mistake you've made. Did you think I would be so trusting?'

Swoosh.

With a burst of air, Bian's right arm grabbed the head of the spider while his left arm released the pill into his mouth.

[Mutant Geno Points +1]

[Mutant Geno Points +1]

The spider clawed at him with its eight legs, creating sparks on the crystal tunic.

Its fangs spat venom on his hands, but his grip did not loosen.

[Mutant Geno Points +1]

[Mutant Geno Points +1]

[Mutant Geno Points +1]

"Wait!"

Squelch!

Its head exploded like a watermelon, sending blood and brain matter all over the room.

[Primitive Creature Dark Weaver killed. The beast soul has been acquired. Geno core destroyed. Eat its flesh to gain 0 to 10 Primitive Geno Points randomly.]

Bian swallowed the last pill, gaining six Primitive points. Then he picked up Bao'er and bolted out of the room.

He ran straight towards the exit, where he first entered the shelter from.

Bang!

Suddenly a yellow and red flash crashed into him like lightning, sending him back in the opposite direction.

After several rolls, Bian jumped to his feet and briefly looked down at the four claw marks on the crystal tunic.

He didn't waste a moment and immediately activated the Emperical Aura alongside the soul pillar, which drastically slowed time in his perception.

There he saw Ash Princess riding the tree-armed ape, while the red blur dashed towards him.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Its speed was far greater than anything Bian had faced before.

With its yellow crystal armor, its claws left deep marks in the crystal tunic with every attack.

Bian could only manage to redirect it's hits towards his torso and away from his head.

"I never thought you would be the cause of this strange light," Ash Princess spoke atop the tree-armed ape, petting the Ruby Viper as she did.

Bian didn't respond, but looked up with a glare. The Red-furred Cheetah had knocked him far away from the door, there was no way he could reach it now.

"Still thinking of escaping? I'm afraid you don't have the capability."

She said with a snap, and Bian felt the black bead explode into a stream of viscous black fluid.

He fell over backwards as black liquid began to seep out from all his orifices.

The Red-furred Cheetah kept a distance from him, guarding the entrance and exit to the shelter.

Meanwhile, the huge tree-armed ape moved closer to Bian, who was convulsing on the ground.
