"Anna, where are you?" Irene Clarins's voice came through in panic, "Why was your mobile phone turned off this morning?"
"Grandmother, is something the matter?" Anna's heart instinctively filled with a sense of foreboding. Irene Clarins normally didn't call her, and even if she did, her voice wouldn't sound so panicked.
As expected, Irene went on to say on the phone, "Connor had a car accident on his way to work this morning, and now he's in the 'City Hospital' being rescued..."
Connor Osborne was in a car accident? Anna was startled and could no longer pretend that she and Connor had no connection at all. After hanging up the phone, she hurriedly hailed a taxi to the hospital.
By the time she arrived at the hospital, both Irene Clarins and Lannie Ward were already waiting at the doorway of the "Operating Room." Seeing her arrive, Lannie didn't wear her usual disapproving expression.
