The secretary had already recognized Emma Osborne's voice on the phone, and had learned of her pregnancy with Connor Osborne's child. Startled, she immediately inquired about the hospital and said she would inform Connor Osborne at once.
Only then did Emma Osborne provide the address of the hospital to Connor Osborne's secretary. Before hanging up, she solemnly warned, "Tell Connor Osborne that I, Emma Osborne, always keep my word. Test me if you doubt it. If he doesn't show up, I am certain some of our secrets will be exposed. He may not fear tarnishing his reputation, but I fear even less.
