As the lights went out, cries filled the room:
"Wah… I want Mommy…"
"Wah… I want Daddy…"
"Wah wah wah… I want to go home…"
"Wah wah wah… I don't want to be here…"
...
"Cry, cry your hearts out! Even if you cry yourself to death, you can't go back!"
The supervisor locked the main door from the outside, indifferent to the children's wailing inside. Passing by the neighboring small room, he sneaked a peek and saw that the light was still on.
The two little ones were busy with something, both with their backs to him.
He curiously pushed the door open and said in a strange tone, "You two seem quite calm. What are you busy with? Stop dawdling, it's time to sleep."
Perfectly in sync.
Both little ones turned around in an instant and walked woodenly to their beds, lying down and occupying half of the space each.
It was clear they had each arranged their own space on the bed.
"Good behavior."
