Kiara waited patiently for Yuzo Joel to return before she finally went home after they had exchanged updates.
She had expected to come home to an angry Wendy, but to her surprise, upon pushing the door open, she saw Zoe feeding Wendy rice paste with a spoon.
Wendy, seeing her mother return, waved her little hands excitedly.
Kiara lifted her child into her arms and kissed her small face with a sense of guilt.
"I'm sorry, my dear, Mommy came back late because of work."
Normally, Kiara would be separated from her child when she went to school, but if it lasted too long, Wendy would get upset. Then, the nanny would bring the child over to see Kiara. After all, the laboratory belonged to Yuzo Joel, and as the Junior Leader, she did have certain privileges.
Today was a special case, Kiara, in an effort to save Yayaka, had left early in the morning and didn't return until it was dark. The time apart was a bit longer than usual, but she hadn't expected her daughter to adapt so well.
