The reason he let it slide was, presumably, because he had carefully weighed the pros and cons. Mario Yuno only won so much, and if he had handed it over, Kiara might have thrown a fit. To miss an opportunity similar to an undercover operation where he could interact with various people would make gathering intelligence much harder in the future.
Besides, consider the cost of hiring Yuzo Joel, whereas hiring Kiara... was free. He had played his cards well.
"Look, we had agreed to have dinner together, and now it's all fallen through. See, Wendy is upset too," Kiara complained.

When they arrived at their destination, Kiara followed Mario into the building. It was the same Captain who had welcomed them last time. Seeing Kiara not eating ice cream but holding her child instead didn't seem to elicit any particular reaction from him; he probably got used to it.
