Chapter 2 - The Body (and Christ): Input and Output Devices

Many years ago, man had wondered what they could do to help in the breaking down of complex problems in order to make them easier to calculate, analyze, understand and interpret, so, the computer was designed, and gradually began to upgrade from one generation to a higher generation. Now, it has grown beyond one's imagination and it solves problems faster than the human brain can.

This computers have what we call input and output devices. They input devices allow the operator to give the computer instructions based on what they want with the help of the keyboard, the mouse, the mic and so on. And the computer, with the help of interpreters, processes these instructions and gives them what they actually desire of the computer through the output devices like the screen (monitor), speakers, etc.

Now, the whole of the human being is like a computer. Data go in through our sense organs. The Tongue (what we eat), the Ears (what we listen to), the skin or flesh (what we are attached to), the eyes (what we see), and the nose (what we smell/snuff, etc). It is therefore what we allow go in to us, through our senses that processes within by the mind and eventually, they begin to manifest by our own kinda output devices, that is, in our responses, actions, conversations, dispositions, desires and ambitions, etc. That's why you could tell by mere listening to a person speak, what has been going through the person. That is to say, by what proceeds out of a man, you could tell if they have been nurturing good or evil things. "...by their works you shall know them..."

God formed man out of the dust of the ground. "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)." So, from the earth he was made, but he ceased to be from the earth as soon as the breath of life left God, and took over the molded image (man), which means he is not from the earth. This skin or body is simply a temporal representation of the soul on earth.

Below are the characteristics of the BODY:

*B- Building

Listen carefully to this, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19)" So, the body is concrete, it's the structural and physical representation of God on earth. This topic says, The Body and Christ. Understand that am not trying to say this body of ours is Christ. No. Christ is God, and just like God, He is a Spirit, and those who worship Him, must (of course) worship Him in spirit and truth. I only said Body and Christ in order to explain better to you the relationship between God and the Body of man. Like I mentioned earlier, Christ took the body of man, and revealed Himself to the world. This was in order to be able to relate with the body-nature of man; to be able to feel the burden of carrying a body, the pain and weakness of the body. It says, "...by His stripes, we are healed..." To be able to receive these stripes, there has to be a body to be beaten.

This body is a building. And this building is destructible. "Destroy this temple..." Christ was actually referring to killing of His body. And He said He would rebuild the same temple in three days. In other words, He was going to be risen back to life, and by extension, the body of man (though corruptible and destructible, through sickness, disease, and infirmity) can be rebuilt by the stripes which the Body (of Christ) received in the place of every 'body' born of a woman. And again, by further extension, the same body would be risen again from the grave (at the Rapture) wearing an incorruptible 'Body' (the soul), which would live for eternity.

*O- Ornament

An ornament is simply an adornment, a kind of attire of beauty. The adornment part of man was originally the body, until he fell by disobedience, which made him lost the original glory placed on him. This was the glory God (Christ) came to restore by giving His life. Let's have a look at 1 Corinthians 6:20, "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body..." Your body is god on earth, just like Christ came down to earth, in the body form, to show us practically how to live with this body of ours, and to grant us the power to be able to do so.

*D- Design

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works;... (Psalms 139:14)"

Let me ask you something, How do you handle an egg? Carefully, Specially, Fearfully, right? 'Cause you understand quite alright the implication of you roughly letting it down. I could only imagine the kind of care and attention God used while molding man. Every single part of his was fragile and delicate, and so He (God) did all He could to ensure the nose is exactly right where it is and how it is, pointed, flat, long, short, and so with every other part.

Some houses are white, others are black; some are tall and mighty, others are short and little, but they are all houses and are all beautiful. You are beautiful just the way you are, created male or female for a reason. Trying to be a female when created a male or vice versa, is simply questioning or being in opposition to the work of the Creator, or it's trying to make yourself a creator of yourself.

*Y- Yoke-carrier (burden)

The body is the door to the spirit and soul. What ever it does: what it feels, what it tastes, what it listens to, what it sees, and what it smells and sniffs/snuffs, that thing (right or wrong) transmits into the heart, and is being processed by the mind and spirit, which eventually affects or influences the soul.

Burden. How is the body a burden or yoke carrier? It is because it's responsible for the spirit and soul states. Blame the body for any misfortune in the spirit and soul. The spirit or mind gets corrupt by what the body does. Let me site few examples, Bible says we should study to show ourselves approved. Isn't it the body that does the studying? "... watch and pray..." Isn't your common senses that do the watching and praying? Even for you to pray in the spirit, it starts from the mouth (body). This is why I said it is the carrier of the burden.
