Even now, he still doesn't understand the aesthetic preferences of the void, creating its creatures this way. They're straight-up nightmare fuel.
They behaved exactly the way he expected them to: listless and dumb. They almost look domesticated this way, but that's only because they couldn't sense him at all.
As he went nearer to the Heart of the Void, more strange things appeared in his observation field aside from these abominations. He saw nonsensical structures trying to serve as homes for these creatures, but from how they behaved, it's clear that they don't know what to do with them.
Some creatures draped themselves over the structures they owned, their bodies bending in questionable and strange angles. Cedric interpreted this as their way of claiming this territory as theirs. Others carried their homes on their backs; a few swallowed them and then spat them back as if marking them.
