Chapter 194 - Chapter 194

Brimming with power, I dashed out the door and examined the front and back gates to see which would provide me with the biggest fight.

The front gate was losing ground, but their situation was not as bad as the back gate, they were getting their shit pushed in.

I jumped off the wall, landed on a nearby roof, and broke my fall by rolling and continuing my run to the big fight. As I ran from roof to roof, I picked up some loose and broken tiles and started throwing them like frisbees into the enemy's rank-and-file. And with my superhuman strength, the ceramic roof tiles shattered upon the enemy, killing or maiming them if it hit them in unprotected areas or knocking them clean off their feet if it hit them on their armor.

When I reached the roof nearest to the fighting with one of the knights with the glowing swords, I went to the roof's edge and launched myself off the edge, straight for one of the berserk knights cutting down our people. And in the process of that launch, I most likely destroyed the roof.

Naturally, since I was flying at him directly from the front, that berserk knight easily saw me coming and performed a last wide swing to disengage from those he was currently fighting and parried my spear aimed at his chest. But that was a mistake on his side as momentum carried my body forward and my knee into his chest.

This sent the berserk knight crashing back into his own men, allowing me to return the favor of slathering the soldiers on my side and started poking holes in the nearby enemy soldiers.

At first, they leveled their spears at me to try to use their superior numbers to skewer me full of holes, but they soon found out that I was too fast for them. Like the knights with the glowing swords on their side, their normal spears, which were not even covered with aura, could not so much as scratch me. These men were soon poked full of holes.

Seeing me kick away the berserk knight that they had been barely containing, the knights on my side took advantage of the tide of battle and rushed the enemy forces to reclaim as much lost ground as possible.

As all this was happening, I was keeping an eye on the berserk knight that I sent flying. After he got up from the pile of soldiers he crashed into, he ripped off his dented breast place and stared at me with hate in his eyes.

Within seconds of ripping off his dented armor that was most likely pressing into his chest, the berserk knight's aura flared more violently than ever, and so did whatever energy came from his glowing sword.

The next moment, he pushed off from his position, the impact of his push-off sending his own men flying and sending him right in front of me in the blink of an eye. He swung with a diagonal slash, but I sidestepped and thrust my spear at his now unarmored chest.

In response, he rushed into my space while useing his offhand to bat away my incoming spear while closing in to try and cut me down.

Since he was too close to me to wield my spear, I released my spear and grabbed the knight's hand that was holding the glowing sword mid-swing. And before his other arm could wind up for a punch after swatting my spear away, I drew my knife with my other hand and stabbed into the armpit of the knight's off-arm and wretched my blade out sideways, severing his shoulder socket bone.

This made the knight roar in pain, but I did not relent in my attack. I head-butted the man to stun him and used that moment to stretch out his sword-wielding arm and sever it with my Primal Aura coated knife.

By now, I had an inkling that those swords they were wielding may have something to do with their rapid regeneration, so let's see if they can heal without the sword connected to their body.

Before the knight could react to his hand being chopped off, I grabbed him by the back of the neck and started rapidly shanking him as they did in prison TV shows.

After about the tenth stab, I released him to fall to the ground and looked at the sword that I relieved from the knight's body and was glad to see that it was not glowing. Just to make sure the man was truly dead and not healing while lying face down, I flipped him over with my foot and looked into his lifeless eyes, and then I looked down at his chest, which was riddled with open stab wounds. Seeing that none of them were healing, I felt a satisfied grin creep up on my face.

But before I could get too happy about bringing down these knights who were killing our men so easily, my body jerked forward as I felt something pierce me from my back to my front. On instinct, I horse-kicked backward and felt I connected with something. In the movement that happened, I felt whatever had pierced me violently exit the way it came through.

I immediately turned around to see what I kicked and saw another knight with a glowing sword. And that was when I felt it. The place where I felt the impact was burning with pain, and as I looked down at my chest, I was bleeding from an exit wound on my chest. But that was not the worst part.

The worst part was the drowning sensation I was feeling on the right side of my torso, and I started coughing up blood as I forced myself to face the enemy while pointing my knife at him.

As the enemy knight walked toward me with his glowing sword at the ready, I realized that this bastard had backstabbed me and that my right lung was most likely drowning in my own blood.

This pain I was experiencing snapped me out of being high on the power of my Primal Aura. As I wheezed every blood-curdled breath, barely getting the oxygen I needed, I realized how exhausted and in pain my body was from all the strenuous movements that were beyond what my body could handle, causing my subconscious to shut off my Primal Aura.

Now, in my weakened state, I realized how vulnerable I was. Primal Aura made me feel big and powerful to the point that I thought nothing in the world could hurt me… to the point that I did not even have situational awareness to not fixate so hard on a downed enemy and get backstabbed.

Primal Aura may be powerful, but it takes a toll on the mind to ensure I don't become a prideful beast, which, in hindsight, I realized I failed. But that is for another time if I survive. Now, I needed time to use some healing magic to patch myself up. But if I retreated now, those behind me would be killed by this knight who was stalking toward me.

As I was thinking of what to do, I remembered the totem Professor Sageira passed to us. I quickly sheathed my knife, took out my totem, and snapped it in half.
