The seasons in Tenowa are ever-changing, with orderly rows of dense beech and pine trees. Mount Hakkoda in winter becomes an ideal ski resort, where you can glide through natural clusters of rime-covered trees and experience the pinnacle of alpine skiing.
Besides the ski courses, the most famous feature here is the acid hot springs. These springs are acidic, primarily weak saline, and when tasted, they have a sourness resembling lemons. Even though these springs are nestled deep in the mountains, they've been utilized as a hot spring retreat since ancient times due to their abundant water and varied therapeutic functions.
Thus, Aomori and Tenowa have long been a paradise for winter tourism.
And Shouka's good friend Nachi Akimichi—her family runs an acid hot spring inn right here.
Before Yu Cha Middle School officially went on holiday, Nachi had already invited Shouka over during winter break to soak in the hot springs at her family's inn.
