"Will you get married to Violeta's mother once you find her?"
Jasper Bollock's hand, which was reaching out to caress Charlotte Bollock's cheek, stiffened in midair.
Evelyn Crawford looked at him anxiously yet expectantly, not even daring to breathe too loudly.
She had never thought of using the child as a bargaining chip to make Jasper Bollock marry her.
She actually knew how he would answer.
But she just couldn't help herself, and the question slipped out.
Jasper Bollock withdrew his hand and when he looked at Evelyn Crawford, his eyes grew cold, "This is none of your business. Take good care of her and get some rest early."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jasper Bollock turned and strode out.
Evelyn Crawford watched his tall figure receding, finding it hard to describe the complex emotions inside her.
She hadn't heard the answer she had hoped for.
But she was also relieved that he hadn't outright denied the possibility.
