Evelyn Crawford muttered, "I'm sorry to have amused Colonel Bollock..."
"It's fine," Jasper Bollock's face regained its calm. "If your husband hits you again in the future, just tell me, I can help you."
"Thank you."
Evelyn's tense heart relaxed a bit, yet she dared not look into Jasper Bollock's eyes.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Although she was wearing a mask and a wig, she couldn't change her eyes.
She couldn't afford to be suspected.
She hadn't thought things through yet, nor was she prepared.
When she left years ago, she was determined not to bother Jasper again.
This time, if it wasn't for having Violeta with her and finding it inconvenient to avoid her grandfather, she wouldn't have sent Violeta back to the Bollock Family.
"I just heard her crying, so I came to check."
Jasper Bollock explained his earlier actions.
"It's okay now."
"That's good, take good care of her."
Having said that, Jasper Bollock turned and left.
