"Ryan Gregory, are you saying that Arthur Baker is using the children to threaten you?"
She looked at him with a sarcastic gaze, "Do you think I would believe that? Arthur's kindness to Lena and Wilson is something you could never match! When they needed you over the years, where were you? Wasn't it Arthur who was helping me take care of them? Can you stop telling such ridiculous lies?"
"Do you think I'm deceiving you?"
"Otherwise?"
For her to believe that Arthur was using the children to threaten him was simply impossible.
The mockery on her face and her unwavering trust in Arthur weighed heavily on Ryan's heart.
It felt as if his heart was burdened with a million pounds, crushing him so much he could barely catch his breath, causing a dull pain!
She would rather trust Arthur than him!
Ryan fixed his gaze on her, lifting the corners of his mouth in self-mockery, "Fine, even if you don't believe me, what about our one-month agreement?"
