Chapter Five
He took her away, and on the way back, both of them were very silent.
She kept looking out of the window with an indifferent expression on her face.
Every time he saw her like this, his heart would feel unbearably stifled.
When would she smile at him as happily as she used to?
You see, she used to be an optimist, a woman whose warmth you could feel.
Like the bright sunshine, sunflowers that face the sun, always maintaining an optimistic mood, inadvertently affecting those around her. Even when exhausted, one look at her smile would make one feel extraordinarily relaxed.
The scene just now had affected both their moods.
He reached out his hand, took hers, and tightly clutched her cold fingers.
"What would you like to eat later?"
He tried to find a topic to ease the awkwardness of the moment.
But her interest remained low, "I don't want to eat."
Her face was full of disappointment, an unmistakable disappointment that couldn't be ignored.
