Chapter Nine
Ryan Gregory furrowed his eyebrows, grabbed the car keys, and was about to chase after her.
But at that moment, his phone rang again.
It was still Regina Brown…
He pressed the answer button, and Regina's anxious voice came through, "Ryan, you need to come back, Mom's had an accident."
A sinking feeling gripped his chest, "What happened?"
"She said she was feeling unwell today. I thought it was nothing, but she just fainted in her room. I've just taken her to the hospital now. Please come back quickly, I'm so scared on my own." Regina's voice was close to tears, causing Ryan Gregory's heart to clench.
Although his mother hadn't taken care of him very thoroughly, she was his mom. After his grandmother passed away, he couldn't let anything else happen to her.
Without waiting for Regina to say anything more, he hung up and quickly dialed Lydia Mitchell's number.
The sound of the call going unanswered threw his heart into chaos.
