Arthur Baker's face was flushed with rage. "Don't you call me Grandfather—I have no grandson like you!"
"Did you do what happened to Sofia Hamilton's mother?"
Arthur Baker trembled all over with anger...
Clarita Baker furrowed his brow, how could Grandfather know?
"Who told you?"
"Never mind who told me. I'm just asking you—is it you?"
Grandfather stared at him with fierce and serious eyes beneath his grizzled eyebrows.
He had never liked Clarita.
It wasn't because he wasn't a child of the Baker Family, but because his thoughts were too dark...
He thought his forgiveness could change him.
At least, he was good to Sofia!
After all, they were both children he had watched grow up. If Clarita could reform, his marrying Sofia wouldn't be such a bad thing.
But Clarita had disappointed him too much!
Faced with his grandfather's earnest and severe questioning, Clarita's brows knit tighter, unable to respond.
