Cass suddenly realized something. He turned to Leonel, his eyes narrowing as he asked, "Wait, you anticipated this?"
Leonel shrugged, his expression calm as he replied, "Not this exactly, but we assumed the skill would reject your blood. Since you two are still alive, that means we were at least partially correct."
Cass glanced at Zeke, a sense of unease creeping into his voice. "Please tell me we're not going to kill ourselves again."
Zeke exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "Don't worry, we're not doing that. Although, I did consider it for a brief moment." He gave Cass a sidelong glance before continuing, "Ultimately, I had to decide against it. We still have to turn him using Faith, and we cannot do that if we're dead."
Cass gestured toward Damon's motionless body and asked, "Then what are we going to do about him?"
Zeke's voice was firm. "We wait."
Cass frowned. "Wait for what?"
Zeke met his gaze evenly. "For the Totem to do its job."
