Amelia Clarke looked up at the tall and upright man beside her.
She was not sure if Owen Moreland said that because he sensed her need for consolation, but it was undeniable that her mood had brightened considerably because of his words, "I'm accompanying my wife to the company to get some things."
She could tell that Owen Moreland's words were also a warning to Lily Scott.
Amelia turned her head toward Lily Scott and greeted her with a polite smile, "Sister Scott."
Without proclaiming triumphantly about her dominance over Owen, or taking advantage of someone when they are down, Owen was completely on her side. She was already at an advantage; now, all she needed to do was stand beside him and smile.
Lily Scott looked at the man and woman in front of her.
The man's features were calm and serious, his demeanor extraordinary, and the girl beside him was delicate and graceful, quiet and beautiful, creating an exceptionally harmonious picture.
