Bei Yun's level of painting truly wasn't much to speak of, but just as he said, as long as there was someone willing to pay, that was all that mattered.
He spent a day at the Extreme Taste House leisurely completing his painting and, after returning to the Bei Residence, replicated the artwork in nine more copies. Then he carved a seal and stamped his name on each one.
When he set up his stall again at the entrance of the Bei Residence, he displayed these ten paintings, pricing each at ten thousand taels and refusing to sell for less.
His skill in painting wasn't great, and he had spent quite a long time on these ten paintings. Had he been treating patients instead, he could have cured twice or even thrice the number in that time.
Given the effort involved, it was only natural that the price of the paintings should be higher.
Just as he had expected, the moment the ten paintings were displayed, they sold out instantaneously.
