Amanda Smith walked in with food just to see Lily Smith sitting on Samuel Johnson's lap, animatedly chatting about something.
"Lily." Amanda came over and lifted her off Samuel's lap, "How can you sit on someone like that?"
Holding Lily in her arms, Amanda watched as she stuck out her tongue sheepishly and gave a shy smile. Then Lily turned to Samuel and said, "So, it's a date?"
Samuel replied with a gentle smile, "Yes."
Amanda placed the food she had bought on a side table and called Lily over to eat. Then she paused to ask, "What did you two plan while I was away?"
Lily looked up, blinked, and whispered, "…Secret!"
Amanda couldn't help but knock gently on her head, "Already sharing secrets with your daddy?"
Lily giggled with a dumpling in her mouth and said nothing.
Samuel's food was specially prepared by the doctor, so he couldn't eat what Amanda had brought. He could only watch as mother and daughter ate their breakfast.
