Two and a half hours later, Amanda Smith got out of bed.
As her feet touched the ground, she staggered, legs weak.
"Mummy..."
Lily Smith called out to her in a soft voice.
"Lily... Mummy is going to the operating room now, do you want to go, Lily?"
Lily bit her lip and nodded slightly. Amanda reached out her hand to lift her down, and as they left the room, they saw Grace Murdock and Tim Morrison coming out of the neighboring ward.
Their eyes met, and they both gave a wry smile, then silently proceeded towards the operating theater door together.
The medical plan was already in place, and several nurses were busy making preparations outside the operating room; Mrs. Johnson was also sitting there, not knowing how long she had been there, wiped away her tears upon seeing them, and said to Morrison and the others, "Samuel's father is ready and is now inside the ward."
