Surviving in the wild is really not like what's portrayed on television, where the protagonist always manages to endure all kinds of hardship and turn peril into safety, and survive until somebody comes to rescue them.
The soldiers of the peaceful era, especially those from the air force base, were trained mostly in operating fighter jets and using various modern weapons. After arriving here, without their most powerful weapons and lacking in medicine in an unfamiliar environment, a single poisonous insect could take their lives.
