Chapter 147: Another World Part 4
Leprosy was a common disease in medieval times, a dangerous illness often caused by poor hygiene.
Madam Marquies and her daughter had been infected with leprosy. One day, the lady, tired of her confinement, managed to sneak out. It was at that moment she fainted and was saved by Kagami, who was disguised as a thug. Everyone on the Marquies' estate feared the wrath of the Marquies and started searching for the missing lady.
In the shinobi world, Setsuna had invested a significant sum in healthcare, so a disease like leprosy meant little to Kagami.
Chino, one of Orochimaru's parents' researchers, developed the cure for leprosy, tuberculosis, and smallpox.
Fortunately, Setsuna had prepared medical supplies before their arrival in this world, so in just one day, the fever was cured, and the swelling and rash had greatly reduced.
"Are you the one who saved me?" asked Lady Telion upon waking up in a house, where she saw Kagami and a woman with her child.
"Where are you from?" Kagami replied, not wanting to engage with the noble lady.
"I'm Lady Telion from the House of Telion," she introduced herself.
"House of Telion? Never heard of it," Kagami responded.
"You don't know my father, Marquies Telion?" asked Lady Telion, surprised.
"Nope, and I'm not interested," Kagami said flatly.
Lady Telion looked at Kagami with curiosity. Unfortunately, Kagami was in disguise, using the Transformation Jutsu to appear as an unhandsome middle-aged man. Despite this, his indifferent attitude piqued her interest.
Then she noticed something—the headache was gone, and her movements were more fluid.
"What did you do to me?" asked Lady Telion.
"I found you lying on the ground and gave you some medicine," Kagami replied.
"Impossible! Who are you?" Lady Telion asked, clearly intrigued.
"Why impossible?" Kagami responded calmly.
"There's no cure for my disease, but you said you gave me medicine?" Lady Telion pressed.
"Oh, leprosy?" Kagami replied.
"Leprosy? No, it's the leper disease, and there's no cure," Lady Telion revealed.
"Leper? I call it leprosy," Kagami said.
"Will you be my doctor?" Lady Telion offered.
"Nope, not interested," Kagami replied bluntly.
Lady Telion frowned.
"I'll pay you 5 gold per month," she offered.
"No, not interested," Kagami repeated.
"10 gold," she countered.
"Nope," Kagami said again.
"15 gold," Lady Telion, clearly unwilling to give up, pushed further, aware that such a miracle doctor was rare.
"Enough. You can go back to your house," Kagami said, leaving her behind.
---Slum---
"This is the first time," muttered Lady Telion. "How dare he reject me?"
Lady Telion felt a mix of emotions—dumbfounded, shocked, amused, and more.
If Kagami had used his real face, Lady Telion might have fallen in love with him. Fortunately, he had listened to Setsuna's advice to hide his true identity, transforming into a burly and very unattractive figure.
He wasn't here to woo other women, he already had Chino as his wife. Never underestimate the love of an Uchiha. When they love someone, that person becomes the only one in their life.
She tried to stand and realized that her illness and pain had significantly lessened. This only made her more determined to have that middle-aged man as her personal doctor.
"Mr. Doctor," said Lady Telion, walking toward the exit.
But once outside, she was dumbfounded. This wasn't a city—there were no buildings or shops.
"Where is this?" asked Lady Telion.
"This is the slum," said Sabrina.
"What? Slum?" Lady Telion repeated. "Don't fool me. The slum is supposed to be filthy and full of sick people."
"I'm not lying to you. Because of that doctor, he takes care of those who can't afford medicine, gives to charity, and more," replied Sabrina.
"Tell me everything about this place," demanded Lady Telion.
Sabrina could only sigh as she explained everything she knew about the area.
"Are you saying those two people go around trying to save as many as they can?" asked Lady Telion.
Sabrina nodded.
"Who is the other one?" asked Lady Telion.
"There," Sabrina pointed at a burly man.
Luckily, Setsuna had disguised himself to look like the Third Raikage, otherwise, another woman might have fallen in love with him too.
---Return---
Lady Telion tried her best to recruit Kagami and Setsuna, but both refused. Eventually, she gave in and asked one of them to escort her home.
Setsuna, noticing the sky darkening, signaled his group of clone to escort her.
Don't underestimate human desire—even though Lady Telion had unpleasant smell due to her lifestyle.
Nobles in this era used urine to rinse their mouths, rarely bathed, wiped their teeth with coarse cloths, and more. Yet, according to the people of this time, Lady Telion was considered beautiful.
Even the people in the slum were cleaner, their bodies emitting pleasant smells.
After Lady Telion returned home, Setsuna asked Kagami about the situation.
"If she comes back, what will you do?" Setsuna asked.
"I'll still reject her," Kagami replied.
"But I want to be her bodyguard for a week while curing her," said Setsuna.
"Why, Sensei?" Kagami asked.
"She's from Marquis Telion's family, and they have great influence. I want to meet other nobles," Setsuna explained.
"Sensei, you always think one step ahead," Kagami said with a smile.
---Marquies Telion---
Everyone was shocked when they saw Lady Telion standing in front of the gates with a group of burly men.
"Who are you, and why is Lady Telion with you?" demanded the guard.
"She fainted on the road, and we saved her," replied one of Setsuna's clones, attempting to return to the slum.
"Wait, don't go! You're under arrest!" said the pompous guard.
"Why are we under arrest?" asked the clone.
"We need to make sure you didn't do anything to Lady Telion," said the guard.
"Wait, they didn't do anything to me!" Lady Telion interjected.
"No, my lady, we need to interrogate them. It would be disgraceful if the honor of Marquis Telion was tainted by bandits like them."
Hearing this, Setsuna's clone smiled, even showing a hint of rebellion toward the guard.
Noticing this, twenty guards stepped forward with their swords.
"Do you know a sword is not a toy? No one has ever survived pointing one at me," said the clone.
"Capture them!" ordered the guard.
Setsuna's clone smiled and spoke to the others, "Don't interfere, this is my fight. Let me have some fun."
The first guard bravely swung his sword horizontally, but Setsuna's clone sidestepped, avoiding the strike.
He then focused his Haki into his hand and punched the guard's armor.
Haki is actually invisible armor and the guard only thought that Setsuna clones first are very strong.
"Boom!" The sturdy armor shattered.
Everyone stood dumbfounded.
"This is boring—one-on-one? Come on, all of you," said the clone.
In just minutes, all the guards were groaning in pain on the ground.
The commotion attracted Marquis Telion and his wife.
---Hired them---
Marquis Telion was shocked to see the guards groaning in pain while Lady Telion apologized to the group of burly men.
"Daughter, where were you, and what happened to the guards?" Marquis Telion asked.
Lady Telion recounted the entire story, from her attempt to escape the house to being saved by the people living in the slum.
Upon hearing that a miracle doctor was living in the slum, Marquis Telion became intrigued. He suffered from gout, and his wife had leprosy, so he naturally wanted to find someone capable of healing them.
His daughter's leprosy had significantly improved, and she looked much healthier.
