Land of Wind, Sunagakure ...
.....
" Haah! Haah! "
Rasa was taking deep breaths to calm himself as he gazed at his messy office.
He was so angry that he wanted to strangle someone but he held it in as he did not want the majesty of the Kazekage to be broken.
How dare they! He was the Kazekage, damn it!
Rasa roared in his mind as he smashed and threw some more things against the wall as he remembered the council meeting that had happened prior.
Luckily he was currently the strongest in the village otherwise these scheming bastards would have been even more overboard.
He thought that getting rid of Pakura would make his Kazekage position more stable, but it only matters worse as that stupid woman instead of dying went missing.
There were zero signs of battle and the Mist shinobi along with Pakura seemed to have vanished into thin air.
The Shinobi's sent to assassinate Pakura were some of the elites of the Hidden Mist's Hunter squad and their deaths were a significant blow to Kirigakure.
If Pakura died during that assassination attempt then the effort would have been somewhat worth it as they would have been able to get rid of a Kage-level shinobi.
But Pakura was missing and Kirigakure believed that Suna backstabbed them by setting up an ambush for their shinobi.
So right now tensions between Suna and Kiri have been rising and the situation has been worsening.
Kirigakure was demanding an answer and the Suna higher-ups were tongue-tied as they truly didn't know what happened.
There was also the pressure of keeping this matter confidential as they couldn't let the people in the village know that their Village hero was sacrificed by the higher-ups for their political interests.
It would cause civil strife and unrest within the village, thus they had no choice but to cover up the truth from the common shinobi and civilians who idolized Pakura.
But still, the disappearance of Pakura was not an outcome anybody wanted to see, it would be in their best interests if Pakura really died.
Because she was like a Sword of Damocles which was hanging above their heads.
They were sure that if Pakura survived the assassination she would very likely know that they had sold her out and betrayed her.
If Pakura came out with the truth it would have dire consequences on Sunagakure and having a rogue Shinobi of Pakura's calibre as an enemy was a very grave danger to them.
So right now it was for the best that Pakura was dead, that was the unilateral thought process of everyone involved in this matter.
And the person who was most affected by it was naturally Rasa, everyone was taking turns making things difficult for him because he was the one who wanted to get rid of Pakura the most.
So they passed the blame for this matter to him and were using this event as a foothold to pressure him.
And since the village lost its tailed beast, somehow the higher-ups blamed him for that too, he totally didn't understand why).
How was he to be blamed for the disappearance of his daughter, he had grand plans for Airi, as she was his weapon to bring glory to Sunagakure.
So he was the least likely person to do anything to jeopardise Sunagakure's Jichuriki.
Rasa was an ambitious man and he would do anything to achieve it. He was a bad mix of Hiruzen and Danzo with a pinch of Asuma (retard).
If there was one thing that Rasa prided himself in, then it was his strength. He hated it when he heard others referring to the Third Kazekage as the 'Strongest Kazekage', when they say this weren't they indirectly scolding him for being weak?
Rasa believed he was the strongest and he could be even more powerful if he had access to more gold dust. He believed he could easily defeat any Kage of the major village as long as he had access to more gold dust.
Thus he had resolutely decided that he would mine for more gold dust secretly, and even if it affected some natural water reservoirs he would do it, as right now was a perilous situation for Sunagakure.
As long as his strength increases Sunagakure could tide over the coming crisis much more smoothly. Only if he had enough strength could he guarantee his safety and his safety is equal to the safety of the village.
He could only give up the common people, as he knew the adverse effects his mining would cause.
Water was a rare commodity in the Land of Wind and water reservoirs were an extremely precious resource, especially for the masses who lived in settlements scattered across the desert.
And him taking away that resource was equal to a slow death sentence for these people, but he could only apologise and remember their brave sacrifices in his heart, just like how that idiot Pakura was supposed to sacrifice herself for the village.
He was the Kazekage and he needed to be strong to hold his position, he had enjoyed the prestige of the Kazekage position and was unwilling to give it up.
He wished to leave his name in the annals of History as the greatest Kazekage ever.
He needed Gold dust to perform his Jutsu and the more he had the better it was and he could use more powerful Jutsu if he had access to more gold.
Rasa believed these people would be happy if they knew their sacrifices were for a noble cause.....
