"Yes! I did have something to tell you, but..."
His confession eased the tension in Zhan Se's heart considerably. She smiled at him warmly.
"But what?"
Her smile was undoubtedly healing. Lord Quan the Fourth's hanging heart finally settled. He pecked her lips lightly, his voice turning low and bewitching, like the murmurs of swallows under the eaves, with an infectious power that could easily make one succumb.
"But I'm hungry. You know, when a man is hungry, he lacks the energy to say anything," he murmured naughtily.
Upon hearing this, Zhan Se's gaze slightly darkened, "Didn't you just say you had eaten?"
After asking, she saw him only pull his lips to a faint smile, his face serene and silent. She glanced at the time and propped herself up resignedly to sit up.
"Fine, you lie down for a while, I'll go make you something to eat."
"No need!"
