A krait fell from the crossbeam, landing right next to the cradles of the two children, then slowly crawled towards them.
Due to the Artemisia and Pigsweed incident earlier in the day, Su Pan'er had been feeling uneasy, and just before dinner, she decided to personally check on the children.
That visit terrified her out of her wits!
A scream startled both children into a wailing cry, attracting the attention of Qin Yi, who had been waiting on the other side.
"What's happened, Pan'er?"
Qin Yi rushed into the room to see Su Pan'er soothing the two children; both were crying loudly, clearly frightened.
"What's wrong, can't you see for yourself?"
Su Pan'er spoke with a tone of force.
Qin Yi was a bit surprised, but upon looking past the cradle, he clearly saw the scene on the other side.
