Elijah was taken aback by Basil Jaak's straightforward response and couldn't help but take a second look at him.
Then, he turned his eyes to the disciple standing quietly in the hall: "Boris, did he violate the Divine Sword Sect's rules and cause you and two other disciples to suffer serious injuries?"
"Replying to Elder Elijah, it was he. Relying on Elder Beer's recommendation to join, he not only trampled on the Divine Sword Sect's rules but also grossly insulted the core disciples. We, unable to bear the insult, quarreled with him after a heated exchange, and he sneak attacked us, injuring all three of us severely!"
Boris pointed at Basil Jaak, fabricating the story without batting an eye.
"Nonsense!"
Basil Jaak responded calmly to Boris's slander.
Basil Jaak knew full well that such a false counterclaim from the usually arrogant Boris must have been overlooked by Elijah.
