Netero had set foot on the Dark Continent twice in his youth.
Because of this, he understood the dangers of exploring the Dark Continent better than anyone.
Human beings' courage to challenge the unknown and explore new continents is simply not applicable to the Dark Continent, which lay beyond the borders of the known world.
This is because there are all kinds of calamities on the Dark Continent that pose devastating dangers to the entire human society.
And every time humans explore that place, while paying a heavy price in terms of sacrifice, it is very likely to bring these disasters back to the known world.
This was why Netero considered exploring the Dark Continent a taboo.
Netero knows that Ging's 'ultimate hunting goal' is to explore the Dark Continent.
But from Netero's point of view, it is certainly impossible for him to let Ging get his wish easily.
He had already stopped his son, Beyond Netero, from going to the Dark Continent, so he wouldn't mind doing the same to Ging.
Sometimes, he had to admit that these younger generations, who were rising stars, all shared an almost fanatical interest in exploring the Dark Continent.
Now, Netero's gaze fell on Moses.
He certainly didn't want Moses, who was showing such promise, to end up like Ging and develop a fascination for that treacherous land...
"Hmm…"
Standing in the corridor, Netero paused, calmly watching the door in front of him.
After hesitating for a moment, he decided not to enter and turned to leave instead.
Time passes-
Another two days went by in a flash.
Moses's injuries were quite serious and he could only lie in bed to recuperate.
After finding out the details of Ken: Bone-Plated Armor, Ging lingered only symbolically for two days before slipping away.
As for meeting Gon and reuniting with him—well, that idea never even crossed Ging's mind.
"So Killua went back home..."
Lying in his hospital bed, Moses looked at Menchi with a hint of surprise.
'Even without Illumi's intervention, Killua still ended up returning home...'
"Um."
Menchi nodded, looking completely unconcerned.
Moses continued, "Did Killua leave on his own, or was he taken away by someone else?"
"He was taken away."
Menchi sat nearby, peeling grapes as she replied, "The man who came seems to be his father."
"Oh?"
Moses raised his eyebrows slightly, and Silva's figure quickly came to his mind.
'It seems that the Zoldyck Family really takes Killua's Nen awakening very seriously...'
'Now, in order to get Killua home as soon as possible, even Silva has personally stepped in.'
Fortunately, Moses had already shifted the blame to Hisoka at the time, which would divert some of the Zoldycks' focus.
As for cutting Illumi into a human stick...
Illumi had brought that on himself.
If the Zoldyck Family wants to avenge Illumi regardless of right or wrong, then Moses will have no choice but to bring Netero out.
The reason why Illumi was precisely to leave room for negotiation, to avoid a complete fallout.
'Killua's gone back home, so there's nothing to be done about...'
Moses lowered his gaze. Given the precautions he'd taken, he wasn't too worried about retaliation from the Zoldyck family.
It's not that he's arrogant, but when it came to connections-
He still has some confidence.
Unless the Zoldyck Family was prepared for a fight to the end, Moses had little reason to fear them.
So instead of dwelling on this matter, he was more concerned with formally establishing a connection with Killua.
He had originally thought of settling this matter after the spar, but he didn't expect Silva to personally take action and take Killua home.
'Judging from the current situation, whether or not Killua would eventually regain his freedom as in the original work, 'going back home' was clearly something he had to experience first.'
All Moses could do was wait.
"Master, have some grapes."
Menchi held a plate of neatly peeled grapes before Moses.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Moses glanced at the plate of perfectly peeled grapes and said with a smile: "Actually, you didn't need to go through all that trouble to peel them."
"It's easier to eat this way."
Menchi smiled, then added, "Besides, peeling grapes is like prepping ingredients. I'm used to it. Not peeling them would feel weird."
"Alright, then."
Moses chuckled wryly and ate all the grapes Menchi had peeled.
As evening approached-
Netero came to the ward where Moses was.
Menchi, who was preparing various fruits for Moses, and Shizuku, who was reading a book, both looked over at Netero immediately.
Their gazes were somewhat hostile. The reason for this reaction was obviously because Netero had injured Moses so badly in the spar.
But Netero, being who he was, could be rather childish himself and paid no mind to their glares. Instead, he gave Moses a playful smile.
The smile seemed to say: 'You young people sure know how to have fun.'
Moses instantly caught the meaning behind Netero's smile and rolled his eyes.
"Menchi, Shizuku, can you both step outside for a bit?"
"Huh?"
Menchi looked at Moses in surprise, while Shizuku simply put down her book with a questioning look in her eyes.
"Master…"
"Please, just go."
Moses cut off Menchi before she could ask any questions.
"Alright…"
Menchi got up reluctantly and made her way to the door.
Shizuku, seeing Moses's insistence, said nothing and followed Menchi out of the room silently.
Moments later, only Moses and Netero remained in the ward.
During the spar a few days ago, Moses had lost, yet he had also won in a sense.
And Netero's visit was to fulfill the reward Moses had won in their wager.
"My request isn't exactly huge, but it's not small, either."
Moses said, meeting Netero's gaze directly.
He intended to place the Illusion of the Thousand Changes on Netero's face for eight full seconds.
In itself, this wasn't much of a demand.
But the issue lay in the fact that-
For the mask to work, Netero would need to enter Zetsu, a state that involved completely shutting off his Aura Nodes.
This request involved a fundamental question of trust.
Entering Zetsu meant exposing one's most vulnerable self. And with the mask being a Nen Tool that would need to stay on for eight seconds, it could easily raise suspicions that it was some form of Manipulation-Type Ability.
Though Netero might be willing to trust Moses, his position as the Chairman of the Hunter Association, along with his worldwide reputation, made it a situation where any slip-up would have massive repercussions.
Given such potential consequences, whether he would agree to this request was hard to predict.
Regardless of the outcome, Moses knew he had to make this request.
After all, this is one of the key pieces of the puzzle for him to eliminate the Phantom Troupe.
