Marietta was in the bathroom, only to hear a tapping sound coming from the bedroom. "Harley, is that you?" She asked but there was no response. "Is someone there?" Still no response.
"It's morning, maybe some pops are playing outside, it'll stop soon," Marietta said to herself. After a while, the talking didn't stop and Marietta started to get scared.
"Hey pup, don't be scared, why don't we go find out what's making that sound?" Monica said, standing on top of the water.
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm with you, so why should you be scared?"
"Yeah, you're right," Marietta said, turning off the shower and wrapping a towel around her body. She unlocked the bathroom door and slowly walked out, she used her eyes to scan the room but found nothing unusual until her eyes landed on the window.
"What is that, is that…is that a bird?"
"Looks like it."
"What is a bird doing here and why is it tapping on my window?"
"How would I know, I don't speak bird language. Just go over there and see what it wants."
"Hahaha, very funny Monica," Marietta said, rolling her eyes.
She started moving slowly to the window and the bird stopped tapping. Marietta slowly opened the window and the bird entered and was squeaking.
"What's wrong little birdy?" Marietta asked, trying to figure out what it wanted until she smelt blood and saw the bird had been injured on the left side of its wings.
The bird's feathers were blue and a hint of purple. "How did a beautiful bird like yourself get hurt?"
It was as if the bird was answering her, it kept tweaking and jumping toward her. Marietta suddenly started to feel dizzy and fainted in no time.
"Oh, is she dead?" A feminine voice said, like that of a teenager.
"What happened?" The second feminine voice asked the Same teenage voice.
"I was only explaining to her how I got injured, nothing else."
Marietta could hear the voices as she slowly started getting conscious, but there was no scent of a werewolf in the room except hers and birds.
"Could it be that…?" Marietta thought as she snapped her eyes open to see two blue and purple striped birds talking over her head.
"Oh shut up, why would you come here in the first place?" The voice of the bird on Marietta's right asked.
"I was hurt and still am, increase you haven't noticed." The bird on Marietta's left answered, showing the other bird its injured wing.
"Are you serious right…she's awake." The bird on Marietta's right said, looking down at her.
Marietta pushed herself up in shock, her head regaining consciousness. The two birds moved towards each other.
Marietta stared at them in shock, "You can…you can talk!?"
The birds looked at each other in confusion, "What are you talking about, of course, we can talk, but no human or werewolf can hear us." The first bird said, laughing until it realized that a werewolf just asked it a question and it replied.
"You can hear us!?" Both birds asked in shock. "That's impossible, no human or werewolf can hear us, except the Halls pack and they have all been extinct since 21 years ago." The first bird said.
"I'm the only survivor from that pack," Marietta said, looking down at them.
The birds looked at her in shock. "What!!?"
"Yeah, so I was told recently," Marietta said, looking sad.
"Oh, we're so sorry about that." The first bird said.
"It's okay. So how did you guys know, did you live there before they were all killed?"
"No, our parents told us, more like, have been telling us about it our whole lives. She said that the Halls pack members were the most peaceful pack In the world and beautiful." The first bird said.
"Yeah, no shit, she never stopped blabbing about it. Saying it was like paradise and some shit like that." Bird two said.
"I can tell that you're the feisty one. So what are your names?" Marietta asked, getting up from the floor and walking over to the wardrobe to look for something to wear.
After searching for a while, she took one of Harley's white shirts, wore it, and went to the bathroom to take the first aid kit that was under the sink.
She walked back out and kneed in from the two little birds. "Give me your injured wing." Marietta examined it, applied cleanser to it, and covered it up with a band-aid.
"There you go. So what are your names? You guys never answered me the first time."
"Aww, thank you. I'm Madison short form for Maddie and Miss Grumpy Pants here are Natalia shorts for Naddie."
"Oh, I see, Maddie and Nattie. Such beautiful names."Marietta said, packing the first aid box. "Do you have any injuries, Maddie?"
"No, I don't."
Okay. I have to say, this is a little bit weird if I must say, but good too." Marietta said, dropping the first aid kit back and holding a plate of blueberries. "Why don't you guys rest here for a while and could you perhaps tell me the story your mother told the two of you?"
"Sure, I can't fly for now and I'm hungry, so why not," Maggie said, eating a berry.
"Sure, whatever," Nattie replied.
"Great," Marietta said, excitedly.
Half of the day went by and Marietta and the birds had been chatting and no one came up to check up on Marietta and she was grateful for that.
"No way, so you're saying that your mother was a spiritual pet friend of my mother?"
"Hmm-hum," Maddia hummed, nodding her head.
"That's cool, you guys wanna be my spiritual pet friends?"
"Yes!" Maddie replied jumping, "I mean, of course, why not."
"Idiot," Nattie mumbled under her breath.
"Heu pup, aren't you hungry and missing our mate? Because I'm hungry and miss our mate." Monica said, lying on a rock with a sad expression on her face.
"I'll go check up on him now."
