"Did David trigger them?" Jayden asked her and she weakly nodded her head.
"I started dreaming about them after the David Grey incident, it is like he reopened my old wounds," Venessa said weakly her voice trembling but she stopped because of the tender touch she felt from Jayden. He was drawing soothing circles at the back of her hand as if reassuring her she was not alone.
She could not fathom what was going through his head or why he was willing to help. He acts unapproachable and unaffected by what happens around him yet he is helping her.
The Serial rapist incident had nothing to do with him but he was willing to help. He took it upon himself like he was the victim. She knew Jayden was hiding things from her about David Grey but she trusted him. She did not know what the trust was built on or whether she was willing to let go of her guard around him but one thing for sure was that she was glad she went for the rental job and was able to meet him.
