Cynthia's brows furrowed, and she tried to yank her hand from his hold, but he didn't bulge in the slightest bit. "Let go of my hand."
"I can't do that until at least my conscience is free. Please promise to forgive me. I tried so hard but I really could not. You can blame me all you want, but my father needed it." Thomas went on rambling, which made Cynthia pretty much confused.
"I don't understand a thing that you are saying, Thomas. I have long forgiven you despite the fact you cheated. We have fallen apart since you stopped loving me." She explained, and to her despair, Thomas broke out crying again like a baby.
"I never stopped loving you, not even for a second; that's why the guilt is eating me. I needed the money badly for Dad's surgery. Mum was going crazy because of the money, so I had to accept it." He cried out. Cynthia felt there was a deeper meaning to his words. She wanted to know more about what he meant, but first, she had to calm down his tears.
