[Later that day – Sid alone in his house, Agastya has stepped out to get breakfast]
The house is eerily quiet.
Sid walks to the bathroom and splashes cold water on his face.
He looks into the mirror.
Sid (muttering):
"Pull it together. You've kept this buried for years. You're safe. She's gone."
Suddenly — a faint reflection behind him.
A shadow. A glimpse of that same girl.
Sid spins around — nothing.
His breath shortens.
Sid:
"Get out of my head…"
He walks into the hall, breathing heavy, hands trembling again.
His phone vibrates on the table.
Unknown Number:
"You still faint when you see blood?"
Sid drops the phone, backing away slowly.
He picks it up with shaking hands and deletes the message — but it lingers in his mind.
[Sid opens a drawer – pulls out an old photo]
A picture of him and her — smiling, happy, a different world.
He flips it over. The date. The place. A small heart drawn in red ink.
His hand tightens around the photo.
Sid (to himself):
"I didn't forget you. I just… couldn't face you."
Thunder rumbles in the distance even though the sky outside is clear.
He turns to the window.
For a brief second –
She's standing in the garden. Head tilted. Staring straight at him.
Sid gasps, blinks—
She's gone.
[That night – Sid refuses to sleep]
He sits on the couch, lights on, every door locked.
Agastya (returning): "You good?"
Sid (forcing a smile): "Yeah. Just tired. Didn't sleep much."
Agastya: "Still thinking about that call?"
Sid (lying): "No… just random anxiety."
Agastya: "Hmm. You sure?"
Sid nods, but his eyes say otherwise.
[Internal Monologue – Sid, later that night, alone again]
"She's not just in my dreams now.
She's around me. Watching. Waiting.
But why? What does she want from me?
Is she even… dead?"
Sid's phone lights up again.
Unknown Number:
"Ready to remember what you really did, Sid?"
He stares at the screen, pulse pounding.
Sid (whispers): "No… please… not again."
[Midnight – Sid on his terrace, city lights far away, moon dim]
He's sitting with a photo album on his lap. Old memories. Her smile. Her eyes. Her laugh.
He gently touches a picture of her — his fingers tracing the edge of her face.
Sid (softly, broken):
"You trusted me with your life… and I… couldn't even move."
Flashback Memory – A gentle one:
They're at a bookstore.
She picks a random poetry book and reads it to him while laughing.
Her (in memory): "You always act like you're strong. But inside, you're the softest person I know."
Sid (in memory, smiling): "Only for you."
[Back to Present]
Sid closes his eyes, holding the photo tight.
Sid (internal monologue):
"That night... I saw the blood. Everything blurred. My knees gave out.
You were screaming... and I was collapsing.
When I woke up… you were gone.
No one knew anything. No police report. No body. No trace."
His eyes fill with tears.
Sid:
"Were you taken? Did someone help you? Or… did I lose you forever?"
He grips the edge of the terrace wall tightly.
Sid:
"I would've given my life for you.
But my fear… it took that choice away from me."
A soft wind brushes past. He hears something faint—her voice.
Whisper (faint, like wind):"Sid…"
He freezes.
Sid:
"Am I losing my mind? Or are you really… still out there?"
[Later that night – Sid back inside, writing in his old dairy]
He flips to a blank page and writes:
"If you're alive… I'll find you.
Even if it kills me.
Even if I have to face that fear again.
I owe you that much."
He closes the book and stares at the candlelight flickering nearby.
Sid (softly):
"Wait for me… please."
[Late Night – Sid finally falls asleep]
The room is dim. Curtains swaying gently. Moonlight spills across the floor. Sid lies in bed, restless but exhausted. Slowly, his eyelids shut… and he drifts into a dream.
[DREAM SEQUENCE]
Sid is standing in a sunlit meadow — warm, golden light dancing over the tall grass. Birds chirp softly. A cool breeze brushes his face.
And there she is.
Wearing the same floral dress she used to love. Laughing. Alive. Radiant. Spinning around with her arms stretched wide.
Sid (stunned):
"You… it's really you…"
His voice barely comes out.
She turns and looks at him with the same warmth that once melted his fears. Her smile — untouched by time.
Then, suddenly — she runs. Light on her feet. Laughing.
Sid (softly at first):
"Wait… don't go…"
He starts chasing her, stumbling through the grass, trying to catch up.
Her laughter echoes — distant, playful, like a memory slipping away.
Sid (desperate):
"Please… wait!"
He tries to call her name, his lips parting—
But no sound comes out.
His throat tightens. Panic rises.
He tries again. And again.
Nothing.
She runs further into the mist that begins to creep into the field.
Sid (gasping, voiceless):
"No… please… come back!"
She looks back once — a soft, sorrowful smile. Her eyes… full of love. And sadness.
Then — she disappears into the white fog.
[Suddenly – Sid jolts awake]
He gasps for breath. Sweat dripping down his forehead. Hands clutching the bedsheet.
Sid (broken whisper):
"Why can't I say your name… why can't I hold onto you…?"
He looks at his hand — still trembling — as if he was holding hers just moments ago.
A single tear rolls down his cheek.
He lies back down, staring at the ceiling.
Sid (softly):
"Don't stop coming in my dreams…
It's the only place I get to see you smile."
