In the office at the Blood Vulture Corridor, Governor Morphy sat upright, hands crossed propping up his chin, and said to the military-clad Colonel Fraser and Major Ron:
"It appears that both of you have had a strenuous journey, and did not rest well last night in our remote region, this is a failure on my host's part."
"It's not related to your reception, Governor Morphy."
Colonel Fraser tried to conceal his emotions, but facing such a situation for the first time in his life made it difficult to act nonchalant despite his best efforts.
To avoid further awkwardness, the dark-eyed colonel delved straight into the topic:
"My adjutant and I came today to discuss the placement of our military observation team. Marshall Loren has ordered us to choose our location ourselves and take on the responsibility for the soldiers of the Goldenrod Kingdom during the Black Disaster.
