Under the ethereal glow of the twin moons, a horse-drawn carriage traveled the bustling streets of the Uptown Quarter.
The carriage was black in color and so were the steeds pulling it. The coachman driving the carriage belonged to a private enterprise that provided transportation services to the nobles and wealthy merchants.
Although their services were seldom availed since most of the affluent people in the city had their own carriages and coachmen.
Evidently, not all of them did.
Adam sat in the luxurious leather seat in the carriage, resting his elbow on the window ledge and gazing at Selene and Luna who had hidden behind the clouds, seemingly in preparation for the storm that was brewing on the horizon.
He would be knowingly entering enemy territory tonight and, needless to say, it was going to be a highly risky endeavor. But ever since time immemorial, danger and opportunity have always coexisted together. One only needed the courage to endure the risk.
