The Black Bastion stood at the heart of Ravenfell's Downtown District, just a short distance from Council Keep.
It was the stronghold of the Black Legion, an imposing fortress that served as both a symbol of the city's elite might, and a silent warning to all its enemies.
The day following the grand feast, Adam arrived at this fortress on horseback. He noticed that it was built atop a raised plateau of black stone. Its towering obsidian walls proudly displayed the banners of the Black Legion.
"Not bad," Adam muttered under his breath as he directed his steed to proceed to the towering black-iron gates.
"We greet the Lord Commander!" The guards stationed at the gate loudly and respectfully greeted the youth.
Adam nodded at them, waiting for them to open the gates.
Upon entering through the outer walls of the fortress, he arrived before a vast, enclosed courtyard where the hundred Rank 2 Magi of the Black Legion honed their craft.
