This time, our formation changed and Amber was the one leading the way while Mara took the back, placing me in the centre of the group.
There wasn't really a need for us to walk in a single file since it's not like the corridor was especially narrow but they insisted on advancing this way so I just went along with it.
"How are things on your end, Ries? Lea?" I asked through the comms.
"All quiet here, Mistress."
"Yeah, no need to worry about us, Boss! I thought they would be sending some ships to attack us to distract us from this but none showed up so far!"
That was what I was afraid of as well.
Why would they arrange for an attack like this but yet not secure an escape route?
Did they believe that these people would not need backup at all? In that case, why attack us in the first place? Why not board that ship while we were in the middle of that fight earlier instead of boarding them after the fight?
