I'll give the captain some credit here… He's basically sacrificing himself right now because if those 'pirates' find him, he's a dead man.
He even told the Mercs that they could leave and paid them all their dues.
And yes, he also paid us, even giving us an advance on the job of bringing those researchers to the station.
I asked if he wasn't afraid that I would take the money and run but he just stared at me and said nothing.
I guess I shouldn't ask anymore and since we planned to sell those Psionic Crystals at the research station anyway, it would be beneficial for us to go there in the first place.
Still… Even if we didn't, I wouldn't want to do anything that may bring trouble to us in the future… And taking money and failing to do a job for someone from the Inner Colonies sound like just the kind of thing I should avoid doing.
