Lightning crackled around Ye Feng's body as he crouched. Flames erupted from his narrowed eyes and coated his blade in a sizzling sheath of swirling vapor.
Opposite him, Adam raised his hand. The wind created by the spinning arrows tugged at his sleeve, threatening to rip it off as he sneered. "Two elements? Wow! Almost as impressive as my dozens."
"Shut up!" Ye Feng scrutinised the different elements sparkling on the arrows. "The arrows are real, the elements mere illusions, a vain attempt to distract me. I've seen through your pathetic deceptions." His voice grew chilly. "Now die."
He watched Adam tilt his head with a confused expression. But he wouldn't fall for it. There was no record of anyone born with more than seven affinities in the realm's long history, much less dozens. He'd be a fool to believe they were real.
