"Everett," Everett turned at the sound of his name. He had been staring at the direction Astrid walked off to without moving a muscle and even failing to notice the presence behind him.
"What brings you here, Liam?" He asked, spotting a smile as he did so.
"You," Liam replied. "What do you think you are doing here, Everett? You have never taken any interest in this marriage arrangement before."
"Your sister is quite the catch, wouldn't you say so?" He uttered, shrugging his shoulders as he approached Liam, who stood almost ten feet away from him. "I want to make up for lost time, but I doubt she would let me do that."
"You heard her earlier, didn't you? Leave her alone, Everett. She deserves to be happy, and you are hardly good enough for her," Liam said, and Everett feigned hurt. "She made that decision on her own, and I know she will go through with it. So I will tell you now, leave her alone before one of you gets hurt."
"One of us? Trust me, I won't let her get hurt…"
