Chapter 11 - We ate Spiders

As Arthur and Olivia continued their journey down into the dungeon, they encountered increasingly stronger and more aggressive spider-like creatures. The spiders' bodies grew larger and more twisted, their eyes glowing with an unnatural blue light.

Arthur and Olivia fought on, their movements becoming more fluid and synchronized as they worked together to take down their foes. Arthur began to use his spear more and more, piercing the spiders with deadly precision, crushing them beneath his feet, and cutting them down with swift and merciless strokes.

Olivia fought alongside him, her sword flashing in the dim light as she struck down spider after spider. Together, they were a formidable team, their movements a testament to their growing trust and confidence in each other.

As they descended deeper into the dungeon, the air grew colder and the shadows seemed to twist and writhe around them. But Arthur and Olivia pressed on, undaunted by the dangers that surrounded them.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they reached the sixty-ninth floor. They had been fighting non-stop for hours, and their bodies were tired and sore.

"I think we need to take a break," Olivia said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Arthur nodded, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. "Let's find a safe spot to rest," he said.

They found a relatively safe spot, surrounded by walls and with no visible spider webs or egg sacs. As they settled in to rest, Arthur suddenly felt a pang of hunger.

"I'm starving," he said, his voice filled with surprise.

Olivia looked at him in amusement. "You're finally getting hungry," she said. "I was starting to think you had a bottomless stomach."

Arthur chuckled, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. "I think we can find something to eat," he said. "Those spiders might be edible."

Olivia's face twisted in disgust. "You want to eat the spiders?" she asked.

Arthur nodded. "Why not? They're a source of protein, and we need to keep our strength up."

Olivia shrugged. "I suppose you're right. But we'll need to cook them first."

Arthur nodded, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. "We'll need to find a way to start a fire," he said.

Olivia nodded, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Let's get to work," she said.

And with that, they set about trying to start a fire, their hunger and determination driving them forward.

Arthur and Olivia tried everything to start a fire. They rubbed sticks together, using the ancient technique that had been passed down through generations. They used rocks to create sparks, hoping to ignite a flame. They even attempted to harness the power of the dungeon's eerie blue glow, hoping to use its energy to start a fire.

But no matter what they did, they couldn't seem to generate enough heat to ignite a flame. The cold air seemed to suck the warmth out of everything, leaving them with nothing but a pile of useless sticks and rocks.

"It's too cold down here," Olivia said, her teeth chattering with frustration. "We'll never be able to start a fire."

Arthur nodded, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. He was determined to find a way to start a fire, no matter what it took. They needed to cook their spider meat, and they needed to warm themselves up.

As they sat there, trying to come up with a new plan, Arthur suddenly remembered something. He had a Sun Infinity, a mysterious ability that he had discovered within himself. He didn't know what it meant or what it was capable of, but he had a feeling that it might be the key to starting a fire.

Arthur sat down, focusing deep within himself. He closed his eyes and began to move his mana, feeling the familiar surge of energy as he accessed his inner power.

Olivia watched him, her eyes curious. "What are you doing?" she asked.

Arthur didn't respond. He was too focused on the task at hand. He continued to move his mana, pouring all of his energy into the Sun Affinity.

As he sat there, Olivia couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. She had never seen Arthur like this before, so focused and determined. She knew that he was trying to start a fire, but she had no idea how he was planning to do it.

Finally, after a couple of minutes of intense concentration, Arthur felt a small spark of heat emanate from his fingers. He opened his eyes to see a tiny flame dancing on the tip of his index finger.

The flame was small, barely noticeable, but it was hot. Arthur could feel the warmth emanating from it, and he knew that it would be enough to start a fire.

Olivia's eyes widened in amazement as she stared at the flame. "How are you doing that?" she asked.

Arthur smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "I'm not entirely sure," he admitted. "

Olivia nodded, her eyes still fixed on the flame. "Well, whatever it is, it's working. Let's use it to start a fire."

Arthur nodded, carefully cupping his hand around the flame to protect it from the cold air. Together, they set about gathering dry wood and other flammable materials, ready to start a fire that would warm them and cook their spider meat.

As they worked, Arthur couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had never used his Sun Infinity like this before, and he was eager to see what other possibilities it held.

Finally, after several minutes of gathering materials, they were ready to start their fire. Arthur carefully placed the flame on a piece of dry wood, and Olivia gently blew on it, helping it to spread.

As the fire grew, Arthur and Olivia sat back, watching it with a sense of satisfaction. They had done it. They had started a fire, despite the cold and the darkness.

And as they sat there, warming themselves by the fire, Arthur couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they would make it out of this dungeon alive.

Arthur walked over to the spiders they had killed earlier, his stomach growling with hunger. He knew that they had to eat, and the spiders were their best option.

He knelt down beside one of the spiders and began to cut off its legs, using his spear to carefully sever the joints. Olivia watched him with a mixture of fascination and disgust, her eyes wide with horror.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Arthur looked up at her, his eyes calm and matter-of-fact. "I'm getting ready to cook our dinner," he said.

Olivia's face twisted in disgust. "You're going to eat that?" she asked.

Arthur nodded. "Yes, I am. We need the protein, and this is our best option."

Olivia shook her head, her eyes fixed on the spider's corpse. "I don't know how you can do that," she said.

Arthur shrugged. "I'm hungry," he said. "And this is what we have available."

He held the spider's legs above the fire, watching as the smoke began to rise from the cooking meat. The smell was pungent and acrid, but Arthur's stomach growled with anticipation.

Finally, the meat was cooked to his liking. He cracked open the exoskeleton, revealing the soft, white flesh inside. Olivia watched in horror as he began to eat, his teeth tearing into the meat with relish.

She turned away, her face pale with disgust. "I think I'll pass," she said.

Instead, she walked over to one of the spiders and knelt down beside it. She leaned forward, her lips pressing against the spider's wound. Arthur watched in surprise as she began to drink the spider's blood, her eyes closed in rapture.

"I guess we're not as different as I thought," Arthur said, his voice dry with amusement.

Olivia looked up at him, her eyes gleaming with a fierce light. "We're not eating the same thing, though," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Arthur chuckled, his teeth still stained with spider meat. "Fair point," he said.

And with that, they sat down to their respective meals, their hunger sated by the unlikely bounty of the dungeon.
